Introducing FHP Group: Italy’s leading integrated logistics services player
With the merger between FHP F2i Holding Portuale and CFI Compagnia Ferroviaria Italiana (and its subsidiary Lotras), FHP Group is founded, taking on the role of operating holding company responsible for port terminals, intermodal terminals and rail freight transport. Thus is born Italy’s leading integrated logistical services player in the dry bulk and break bulk sector, able to guarantee operational continuity through a single partner.
With the support of our majority shareholder F2i SGR – Italy’s leading independent manager of infrastructure funds – we combine the terminal experience of FHP with the rail know-how of CFI and Lotras.
From its headquarters in Milan, FHP Group operates through 8 port concessions (located in the cities of Carrara, Livorno, Monfalcone, Marghera, and Chioggia) handling approximately 10 million tons of bulk and project cargo, and connects the inland regions through 4 intermodal terminals distributed along Italy’s logistics backbone (Fiorenzuola d’Arda, Incoronata, Piedimonte San Germano, and Villa Selva). Supporting this network, a fleet of 40 locomotives and 1,240 wagons cover over 6 million kilometers across Italy and Europe each year, all coordinated from the Rome and Incoronata offices.
This merger represents the extraordinary acceleration of FHP’s business, which today is able to offer its customers a truly integrated sea-land service that can better control logistical times, facilitating the shift of traffic from road to rail – a more efficient and sustainable solution over medium and long distances. FHP Group thus supports the competitiveness of Italian and European industrial supply chains, contributing to the decarbonization of transport and to Italy’s economic growth.
