Foggia, 6 March 2026 \u2013 FHP Intermodal<\/b>, a company wholly owned by FHP Group<\/b>, is launching a new rail service connecting northern Italy with Bari and Catania and vice versa<\/b>, designed to improve the flow of goods to and from Sicily thanks to an efficient, seamless intermodal solution.<\/p>\n
The multi-client connection, which consolidates volumes on a single rail service, will be operational starting from Monday 9 March<\/b>, and will consist of two pairs of weekly trains, both outbound and return, with the option to increase to three pairs in the short term, to support an increase in demand and a need for more flexible planning on the part of the operators.<\/p>\n
The new service will reach Sicily through the main hubs\/terminals in the FHP network, with goods originating from and being collected at Fiorenzuola d’Arda, Forl\u00ec (Villa Selva), Foggia, and Bari, all connecting to Catania.<\/p>\n
The service is designed for rail freight to support a range of product categories, thanks to the use of railcars and rolling stock that can be tailored to operational needs and specific cargo requirements.<\/p>\n
FHP Intermodal <\/b>manages four intermodal terminals in Italy – Incoronata (in the Puglia region), Piedimonte San Germano (in the Lazio region), Villa Selva and Fiorenzuola d’Arda (in the Emilia-Romagna region) – with more than 500,000m\u00b2 of operating space, over 17 km of rail tracks providing direct access to the national rail network, and more than 30,000m\u00b2 of covered warehouses.
