MarterNeri is capable to provide a “Door to Door” logistics service (Bulk/Break Bulk and containers) through established Partnerships with major sea, rail and road carriers, thus guaranteeing customers quality and reliability of service at competitive prices. Thanks to its favorable geographical position, MarteNeri supplies not only the most important paper mills in the Triveneto region, but also those in Central and Eastern Europe. One of the focal points of the company’s strategy is to preserve and implement rail shipments, including “last mile” service for unconnected customers, to respond concretely to the “carbon footprint” issue. In addition to port/logistics services, MarterNeri also acts as shipping agent, customs broker and logistics consultant, representing a single interface for the customer. For container traffic, Marterneri has deep experience for COC or SOC, FCL/LCL solutions across the entire network of Italian and foreign ports.

The port of Monfalcone is located between the Trans-European Corridor No. 3 “Mediterranean” and Corridor No. 1 “Baltic-Adriatic” at a development route between Europe and the sea line connecting it to the Far East. Excellent interconnection with transportation allows it to efficiently meet a wide variety of logistical needs.
The company owns and manages the following areas at the port of Monfalcone:
- Total areas: approximately 274,000 square meters of which 77,000 are covered
- Directly facing the quay
- Operating berths: 9
- Quay length: 1,460 m
- Max draught depth: 10.90 mt
The company can count on a strategic geographic location: a direct facility face to the quay, a rail connection, and high roadways.
The port of Monfalcone has connections to the Turin-Trieste A4 freeways with continuation to Slovenia, Monfalcone-Udine-Austria A23 with continuation to Germany, Czech and Slovak Republics and Hungary, whose tollbooth is only 1.5 km from the port. It benefits also from connections to the state highways to and from Venice: Udine, Gorizia and Trieste. In addition, the Trieste-Venezia/Udine-Tarvisio railway line, with several branches, is directly connected to the port of Monfalcone. The regional airport, located only 5 kilometers from the port, can be reached directly via the A4 highway in 10 minutes.
The port of Monfalcone is the center of a multimodal area that, within a radius of 25 kilometers, encompasses the port, the airport of Ronchi dei Legionari 5 kilometers away, and the carport and international border station of Gorizia, located on the Italian-Slovenian border at Gorizia-Nova Gorica 15 kilometers away, the Fernetti-Sezana autoporto and a intermodal terminal located on the Italian-Slovenian border 25 kilometers away, the railway marshalling yard and the adjacent “Alpe Adria” interport in Cervignano del Friuli 20 kilometers away. Transportation by sea, sky, land and rail is thus guaranteed in a contained space.
